Hi Everyone!!!
Its been a great week! A lot of you were wondering how Amanda is doing so I'll start with that. She is doing really well considering her situation; the ward has really rallied around her. I think she is getting extra attention because this ward has had like 2 baptisms in like 5 years =) She is now living with a young mom who is very ill with Lupus so she can help out with the kids. She is also really excited because she is now applying for BYU Idaho and found out there is a scholarship for students with difficult circumstances because of their conversion! I had no idea there was such a thing, but isn't that cool!?!? Things haven't gotten too much better with her family but she still has faith that it will eventually. She is so amazing.
We had transfers this week and Sister Reyes is no longer my companion =( She is in Thermopolis, Wyomming! My new companion is Sister Morgan from Maine. I am only her second companion so she is still learning a lot but it is fun! When President called me last week to tell me about her and see if I was okay with being a Senior comp. I said,"Well if the Lord is I am!" and he just laughed. But really, my stomach was just spinning around because I'm so nervous since I haven't been out here very long and Sister Reyrey had been here for 3 transfers and knew the area really well. But I love Stevensville so I am really happy I get to stay here! Last week our district went to this chucky cheese/jungle gyms kind of place that members own and it was so fun! We did mini golf, lazertag, and a water balloon fight. The elders picked on me and I had bruises all over from the water balloons but it was way fun. The week before I get peer pressured into doing a back flip off the curb, ariel, and round off + lots of backhandsprings. haha and my goat impression. It was district olympics and I get competitive =) I think I'm getting too old for that kind of thing because I was hurting pretty bad the next day!! We have a new investigator named Arthur who is 17 and so awesome. He has been in and out of Juvenile detention centers since he was 9 years old but he recently got out and moved up here to live with his grandpa. He has really made a turn around and is a very spiritual person. He said he likes the Work and the Glory movies =) He is readingthe Book of Mormon and praying now and I have high hopes for him havinga very bright future. I got a lot of mail today including pictures from Nicki and Mom!!!!YAY!!! I can't stop looking at them. You all look so happy and beautiful. And I got a letter from Sister Hofmann who is training her 3rd transfer! Crazy! I'm a grandma now =) Life is great.
Love always,
Sister Maegan Olsen
