Oh man I am so tired this week! I feel like I can hardly type because I want to go and take a nap =) It is interesting to be at Temple Square now that the
Holidays are over. It is kind of nice because instead of having TONS of people that don't really want to learn all around you, the people that come are really there to learn about the Church and Temple Square. I've noticed that there are a lot of foreign people that come from ski trips at Park City that come to see Temple Square, so I feel really grateful for the wonderful ski resorts here! Usually I have 2 tours in my schedule and maybe one of them will come, but one day this week when I didn't think there was a soul on Temple Square I had 4 tours in my schedule and all four of them had people! We usually have opportunities to teach at all of our assignments, but tours are by far the easiest ways to teach and help people to want to know more. So on this day there were, first 6 people from Georgia, then two from Montana, and one guy from Colorado (They were all non-members), then lastly two members from Idaho. It was great to get to teach all of these wonderful people when it was so cold outside and everyone tells me the winters are pretty dead here. One of the men from Georgia wanted missionaries to come and teach him and his comment on the card said,"Everyone here is so kind. That is what impresses me the most about everything." I love to read people's comments. Another guy this week from
California didn't accept the missionaries but he wrote on his card, "I learned a lot and you really have changed my opinions about your church." I love talking with people from California because I have found that with the Prop 8 stuff they really have some strange misconceptions about us that I love to clear up. I think I may be so tired this week because my companion has the worse form of PMS I have ever witnessed! I just don't relate well to cramps that make it so you can't get out of bed or study =/ She apologized for being so mean to me this week, but man it has been hard to keep the spirit in our companionship =) haha. Its all good though!! I absolutely love serving here at Temple Square. Every day i see more and more why my Heavenly Father needed me here at this time. Its so weird to me to think that Mom was just up here for a gym meet and that Whit is right down the road! One cool thing I did this week was order a few of my ancestor's patriarchal blessings. I can only do four at a time so I got Great Grandpa Kenneth Thompsons (he had 2, one when he was 17 and one when he was 29 =), Williard Moss Yates, and Elizabeth Liptrot. I couldn't find grandma Daisy's =( I wonder if she didn't ever get one?? They should be mailed to me in about a month and I'll search for more. So fun! I would like to work on my family history but every line is about to the 1600's and its tough! I'll keep trying though. I help Sis. Escalante a lot though because she hasn't even done the temple work for both sets of her grandparents who have passed away because she said the computer confuses her haha. So its really fun to help her! Well there were so many miracles and wonderful people I met as usual and I wish I could share them all with you! I love you all and miss you tons!
