Its been another wonderful week at Temple Square and I have officially been out for over two months! Thanks you so much for the package I got this week. I actually didn't get it until Tuesday because we don't get Saturday mail and then Monday was a Holiday..but don't worry the banana bread you sent was still AMAZING! And even better were the pictures! I loved your Christmas outfits and all of the funny pictures you took at the Joseph Smith Building. I love you guys! You all just look so good and happy--so that makes me happy. I thought my Sister's bangs looked cute so I cut me some the next day, I just really needed a little bit of a change and its kind of fun. I look even more like my sister's with brown hair and bangs than ever, its weird! I'm glad that you like your B-day presents too! Happy B-day this week to Mommy and Grady!!!! Do you think someone can sneak a picture of Grady passing the sacrament on their cell phone and send it to me? =) I'm sad to miss that. It is amazing; the same authority that John the Baptist gave to Joseph Smith, Grady will be receiving this week. Congratulations!!!
So every week we have a different kind of training for the first transfers and this week was at Wellfare Square. I can't wait to take our family on a tour there when you come and pick me up! It is AMAZING how much the church does, not only for members but for people all over the world. One day I got to help people get their groceries at the Bishop's store house and I really loved it. It made me think about how Christ spent is life helping the poor and the needy and also sharing the Gospel and how blessed I am to get to do both on my mission. Trust me, your fast offerings are going to a wonderful place! Millions of people all over the world have food, clothes, and medical supplies because of what you do every month. As I see the programs that the church has to help our brothers and sister it really strengthens my testimony that this truly is Jesus Christ's church. At the North Visitors Center there is a little display that talks about the church Wellfare and Humanitarian aid programs but we don't usually take people there on our tours. One day this week we decided to end there and one of the women on our tour said when we walked into the room,"I was hoping I would see something like this!" She said she is involved in a service organization and she went to help with disaster relief in Kosovo and she was amazed by the church's generous donoations and volunteer efforts there and other places she has been. She asked to have the missionaries come to her home in Ohio and teach her more about this wonderful church that does so much to help the world! YAY!!
I am so grateful to be in such a wonderful place where I truly see miracles every day. I love you all so much and really appriciate all that you do for me. Keep smiling! Love always,Sister M. Olsen
